At Barrios Ruben works with formerly incarcerated & systems impacted youth and helps uplift their experiences and advocates for community policies that respect, prioritize and meet their needs. Outside of work Ruben enjoys time with his family, listening to music, and learning new things.

May 28th is World Menstrual Hygiene Day! This day is recognized around the world with the goal of raising awareness of menstrual product inaccessibility. As well as tackling the stigma surrounding menstruation. Though some wish the day was changed to “Menstrual Health Day,” to help with said stigma. Another way we can reduce stigma is by remembering that not all women and girls experience periods.
