Miguel is believer in the power of community storytelling. At Barrios, Miguel serves as the communications associate. By uplifting the great work happening at FBU and elevating the voices of the people FBU serves to share their stories he hopes to empower his community. Outside of work Miguel is an avid reader, video game nerd and untalented poet.

May 28th is World Menstrual Hygiene Day! This day is recognized around the world with the goal of raising awareness of menstrual product inaccessibility. As well as tackling the stigma surrounding menstruation. Though some wish the day was changed to “Menstrual Health Day,” to help with said stigma. Another way we can reduce stigma is by remembering that not all women and girls experience periods.
